Basically, I would not say that what I did last night was babysitting. In fact both kids, Daniel (around 4 y/o) and Jingga (around 2 y/o) have been sleeping when I arrived at 20.15. So, I was mostly like 'satpam' (

In the morning, I woke up in the living room and realized there's someone at the door staring at me. It was Daniel and he wanted to go to the toilet and I could tell he was somewhat surprised to see me instead of Tantri ("Who the hell is this guy?!!", he probably think

And I was right.. After doing his business in the toilet, he followed me sitting on the living room's couch and he questioned me, "Hoe heet jij?"
Gyaahh.. I knew only very little Dutch

"Ik been Andy", I replied,"Mama sebentar lagi pulang."
Lucky I was told that he understood Indonesian Language

Lucky (or unlucky), Jingga cried in her room. So, I left Daniel and headed toward her room. Seeing me coming closer to her bed, she cried even louder

I hurried myself out of her room. She stopped crying for a while, only to start again the next several seconds. So I took Daniel to her room. He lovingly (aww, so sweet) hugged his sister and tried to lift her out of her box bed. Not convinced that he had the strength (ya iyalah), I helped him getting his sister out. She stopped crying and calmly followed her brother who took her by the hand to the living room.
It took quite some times to convince her that I was a nice guy, hahaha. You know, by trying to be funny and showing her that her brother was not afraid of me.
The rest of the babysitting moment was I was continuosly beaten by Daniel because he was somehow convinced that he was Spiderman with all those shooting-web-through-his-hand gestures

I love those kids.. Both are very nice (considering I can still control Daniel's energetic superpower) and funny (I couldn't believe Jingga was able to converse with her dad using the phone, in a very cute way) and smart (once their mother was home, she told Daniel that I couldn't speak Dutch and only speak English and Indonesian. To which Daniel replied in Dutch,"Why can't Om Andy speak Dutch? Dad can speak Indonesian.."). FYI, their father is Dutch and their mother is Indonesian.
Tantri is still ill, so I'll babysit again tonight..

Hey Andy, have fun with the boy and girl. It surely beats looking after some HRM assignment.
